H-D 2010 Model Launch.

This year’s 2010 H-D Model release spectacular was entitled the ‘Great Ocean Ride’ and included an opportunity to put four of the 2010 variants through a pretty good assessment.

An upcoming Kiwi Rider will have evaluations of the new bikes debuting on the NZ market. These include the ‘beautiful’ Iron 888, the ‘stunning’ XR1200X, the ‘delightful’ new Dyna Wide Glide, and the ‘great looking’ Fat Boy Lo. (My adjectives.)

The two-day ride out of Melbourne travelled along the Great Ocean Road to Apollo Bay and returned via the Ottway Ranges. It provided an opportunity to put the various models through some challenging conditions as well as some prime superslab. Away from the city, many of the coastal and inland routes were quite similar to NZ’s East Cape. From the weather to the types of roads, but with a lot more traffic and people.

Needless to say it was a very professionally staged, complete blast on some very nice bikes. The 2010 XR1200X is SOME bit of kit.

We’ll have the full story and Lou Martin’s stunning pics in December KR.

In the meantime here are some snaps, from my mini-cam, of the event and ride.
