The Publisher sent me a link to a patent filing by Go Pro Camera, for a smart helmet.
This is a good development.
Since Go Pro acquired Forcite Helmets it's been a black hole of info from either party since original announcements.
I dug a bit deeper today and Go Pro have filed a raft of patents for all types of camera-equipped helmets - industrial etc.
I'm still using the Forcite for touring and video production work and it has some very useful applications.
I still pick up the Arai if its day-to-day, but I do look forward to seeing what Go Pro tech can do with the camera.
Go Pro financials aren't that strong currently and they too have been mentioned as a possible takeover target.
They have just released a new batch of cameras that are cinema quality - one with interchangeable pro glass - so a new helmet could be a seller, but it's not a huge market either.
Watching with interest.
